What is your favorite time of the year? Every now and then we ask someone this question. Personally, I prefer summer. I’m not a huge fan of the winter, because I don’t like the cold weather, but I like those two weeks from the winter holiday when I go skiing with my family. The other reason, why I’m not a big fan of the winter it’s because I’m always cold.
Skiing is one of my favorite winter sports. Every year I get so excited when the holiday comes because I know it’s skiing time. In my opinion, every once in a while you should go someplace new and try a different destination. In that way, you can compare them afterward. Not so long ago I used to stay Ski resorts near my country, but these couple of years I tend to go either to Austria or to Italy for the winter holidays.
In my point of view, they are both beautiful and great destinations for the winter holidays. They are different from one another, but they have beautiful villages and hotels that you can stay in.
The villages:
Most of the villages in these Ski centers are small. They consist of a river that goes through the whole village, one-two main streets, and other smaller streets. Also, they are filled with shops, one main market place, restaurants, and many different hotels.
The hotels:
There are many different hotels in these Ski centers. For example, one of the best things is that you can find a four-star hotel at reasonable prices. Like any other hotel in the world, you can choose if you want your stay to include only breakfast or breakfast and dinner. I always stay in hotels that include both breakfast and dinner. In between those hours while you are on the Ski tracks you can eat a snack, soup, or drink a hot chocolate. But also, while you’re taking a break from skiing, you can drink Jägermeister in Austria or the famous Aperol Spritz in Italy. There are also some perks in choosing only breakfast. For instance, for dinner, you can experiment with the food and try different restaurants in the village.
Regarding the Ski lifts, there is a possibility to pick a hotel that is very close to them, and in that way, you can save time walking. But as I mentioned earlier they are small villages and even if you choose a hotel that is not so close to the Ski lifts, there are buses to bring you there, which is included in the price of the ski card. I would recommend you to stay as near as possible, but it depends on what one prefers.
Furthermore, other reasons why I’m recommending Austria or Italy is that they have huge ski tracks and it feels like it’s never crowded, even though there are so many people there.
All in all, whichever Ski destination you’ll choose to visit I assure you, you will not be mistaken.
In addition, check out their beauty.
